Relevance of Magic to Life

Have you ever been in situations where your new found and practiced magic just do not go well into your performance? You can seamlessly put a quarter into a bottle and yet it is not convincing because you are in fact not using the trick in the states where the quarter is a common thing.

We occassionally fail so miserably in choosing what really works well in relation to who and where we are performing the tricks to. For example, poker deck tricks might not go well in a conservative community or people who are just out of the loop. They won't even know the difference between a spade and a club.

So something I guess it is more important to choose is what you perform rather than to learn whatever you want to perform. Ultimately it is the audience that comes first.

Magic is about breathing the mystery in you. Not about holding on to the secret of the trick. Magicians are so called "selling" this air of mysteriousness. If you leave them hanging wild, when they see you again they see you with a certain air. That's when you know you are living up to the name of a magician.

The closer to heart your magic is the better.
