David Blaine is a modern well-known street magician on TV.
In 1997 he and a friend walked on the streets of Times Square, New York with a small video camera and filmed David performing street magic. Amazed by the reactions, he took the footage to ABC and was awarded a $1,000,000 contract for the first Street Magic special.
Blaine is most renowned for his levitation. Although in reality it doesn't necessarily look like what the cameras show, it is still a very impressive illusion, known as the Balducci levitation.
Blaine has created (or publicised) a new field of magic, appealing to all.
