Magical Egg

The magician shows an egg, covers it with a cloth and smashes it. Amazingly instead of egg running out, a little shower of flowers are seen coming from the cloth.

Preparation

You need to make small holes on the both edges of the egg. Blow from one side of the egg so the yolk comes out of the egg. When the egg is dry, fill it with flowers etc., then cover the hole with something egg-coloured.

Method

Show the egg, hiding the hole if it is still obvious. Cover it with a cloth, then smash it - the flowers will fall out.

MNzMOSTWANTED 2nd May 06	then cover the hole with something egg-coloured. he means cover it with something that has the same color as the egg does like a white egg. put some white paint or something white that will blend with the egg and hide the holes.

jeffbrown 14th Jun 06	it is not that confusing! all you do is make small holes in the egg, get the yolk to come out let the egg dry out and then you put some small flowers into it an all you do now is like take a white cloth and cover it over the hole and like tape it or something. and then when you smash it and then there would be flower pedals a flower etc.
MagicFox 23rd Jun 06	Not the most extravegant trick ever, but it can be a nice trick to throw into a routine, but don't go around to all of your friends at school with 20 different gimmicked eggs. :P. A nice way to expand on this trick is maybe gimmicking one egg in a carton, and when you do the trick make sure you pick the right egg. Then have a spectator attempt the trick with one of the untouched eggs. Sticky.

azmad202 15th Jul 06	I just did this earlier today for a bunch off friends (I rigged a whole egg carton btw, lots of omlettes) and I let them pick ant egg, then I let them get a good look at it (but not hold it because of the lack of wieght, although still cold because it was in the fridge) they loved it!

chicofeo1993 3rd Aug 06	love it. what i do, is have a carton of eggs in front of me. Then, I have the gimmicked egg in my lap. (sitting at a table) and then i simply let the spectator choose an egg. Act like you dropped it by accident in your lap, then pick up the gimmicked egg. I dont cover up the holes, i just use my fingers. then, the magic comes. they never expect a gimmicked egg, because they had it in their hands and they could hear the yolk and stuff. great effect!

dinod 30th Oct 06	You could also leave the egg empty and use it in a trick with coins or something. Secretly sneak a spectator's marked coin in it and just break the egg without them seeing the hole.

cwazedqwack 26th Mar 07	Hey, one thing you might be able to use to get a small balloon in the egg would be to dip it in liquid nitrogen(you can get it if you know where to look). Just dip it into the N2 until it freezes, put it into the egg and wait. It should unfreeze after a while inside the egg with no visible change. We did some stuff with N2 in class last year, and it should reduce the size of the balloon by 8-fold. Just make sure to leave the holes uncovered while unfreezing, and use a really small balloon, so the egg doesn't pop or anything.(Then again, if it doesn't pop at first, it might add a cool effect/sound to the trick! You could make a balloon egg yolk, too.)
PeggyPup 7th Apr 07	magicman34 is right. smash an egg full of feathers and it looks like it's snowing. Used this in a magic show once, the kids love it. If you want it to be more believable, I had a stooge pretend to be an innocent viewer and told them to go buy a carton of eggs across the street. They came back with a pre-bought carton with the gimmicked egg inside. Then the audience won't have to inspect the prop.

motleybomb 13th Nov 07	A good way to pass around the egg for inspection without making a switch is to make it seem real. Along with whatever you stuff it with, put something weighty and attractive (mabey coloured sand) in with it. Then seal the hole with liquid paper.
