A card is freely selected and committed to memory. The magician asks the spectator to hold on to their selection. Another spectator freely selects 7 (or more) random cards from the deck. Next, the magician tells the spectators to place all 7 random cards and the selection onto the table. Then, the magician has the spectators mix up the cards.
Before the cards are placed onto the table, the magician walks out of the room. When the magician re-enters, he is able to locate the selection among the 8. As stated above, this can be done with more than 8 cards.
There are no marks on the cards, and no assistants or stooges are used. All 8 cards can be mixed very well, and the spectator is allowed to place all 8 cards in any position they would like. All of the cards could be facing one way, or some cards could be facing up, and some could be facing down.
