iPod-iction

The magician sees someone with an iPod and walks over to see if he can perform a trick with their iPod. They accept and the magician takes the spectators iPod. He scrolls through the songs that the spectator has in their iPod's song menu. It seems that they have quite the song selection, over 200 songs (or more).

The magician sets the iPod face down on the table and takes out a piece of paper and a pen. He writes something on it, folds the paper up, clips it to the pen cap, and hands it to a spectator to keep somewhere safe where no one can get to it.

The Magician grabs the iPod and then tells the spectator that he is going to attempt to predict the song that the spectator picks. The iPod is turned upside-down and the spectator is asked to move his finger around the click wheel forwards and backwards so that the iPod will go through almost every song in the collection. He is told to stop whenever he wants.

He stops moving his finger and the iPod is turned up so that they may see what song was selected. The song that he stops on (for ex.) is by System of a Down entitled 'Chop Suey'. The spectator who took the pen with the paper clipped to the cap is told to take out that pen. He does and confirms that no one could have possibly gotten to that paper. He un-clips the paper and unfolds it. The paper reads the exact same song that was selected by the spectator!
