Effect
This is my favorite card control. Have the spectator select a card. Immediately put the deck down, and instruct the spectator to cut their card into the deck and shuffle it. You never touch their card before the shuffle, yet you're still able to control it. Great for the heckler who wants to touch everything.

Have a duplicate card in your pocket.
Method
This is one of those controls that became painfully obvious to me after I had though of it. It's so simple yet so effective. But remember, this is a control, NOT an effect. It can be used in most card tricks to make things seem more fair.
1. Force the same card as the duplicate in your pocket using the Classic force. You may use other forces but this is by far the most convincing.
2. Right after they 'select' a card you give them the deck and let them shuffle it in.
3. Find a casual reason to reach into your pocket, such as putting the deck box away. Palm the duplicate card. At this point there is a ton of misdirection because everyone is watching the deck.
4. When they are done shuffling, take back the deck and replace the palmed card on the top or bottom (which ever you need).
5. Control it as needed.
Performance Idea: After the deck has been shuffled I replace the card on the bottom of the deck. I look at the deck and say something like, 'I'm feeling you're card about 28 cards in...'. I then do a Hot Shot Cut which makes it look like I cut right to their card.
Forcing Tip: If you are not good at the classic force, you could keep a few duplicates in your pocket. Put their counterparts above and below the force card so if you mess up by 1 card you could take out a matching one.
