Look at the top card.

Method

This is very simple!

Knowing the top card, have the spectator cut the deck anywhere, then put the rest of the deck at an angle. Now grab their attention, they will focus on you instead of the piles. Now, redirect them back to the piles and show them the card on top of the bottom pile. This was the former top card.

Now you know their card!
